Dear Members.
Eddy and Dot have given notice that they wish to come off the committee, Eddy with effect from the National and Dot as soon as a replacement can be found. They have worked hard for the club for a number of years and have helped steer it into 'clear' water from where it once was. As with all the roles theres is a vital one without which the club would not function.
Their roles are different as I wish to explain.
Eddy---his role is to prepare invoices for Bob to print off. A number of people still ring and give their credit card details or send a cheque and Eddy has to process these from scratch---very time consuming. This is on top of the orders that appear on the website. Now the new website will do all the process work that Eddy does except where you ring up or send a cheque. One way round this is to make all purchases on-line only and I will seek views from members at the show.
Dot---her role is as treasurer. Dot pays bills, sorts the accounts out monthly, sorts VAT returns and liases with the rest of the committee as to when they need some money etc. Our account is with Barclays and she regularly communicates with them also. We are a limited company and Eddy and Dot have indicated they are happy to remain as directors.
So. If you think you can do either of the roles and wish to help the club then please step forward. There is a small payment for the VAT work and it would be preferable if you came on the committee, but its optional.
