Welcome to the webpage of the MK1 Cortina vehicle register.

Although the MK1 Cortina Owners Club was founded in 1982 the vehicle register is fairly recent, as it was started up in 2008.
The register has two primary functions:

• To give the club a clear view of how many of each version of the MK1 we have in the club, or are known through other means to be in existence. This will assist on deciding on what spares need to be purchased or remade.
  
• Secondly, the register can be helpful when it comes to owner history. Prospective owners can trace a car’s history, while previous owners can check with the register to find out where their former car may be now.
  

Therefore, we do not only register cars that are known to have survived (status active), but also examples that are known to have been scrapped. This way information can always be traced back, the car might be gone but it’s not forgotten.

Furthermore there is group of cars about which no recent information is available, and of which its unsure whether they are still around.
These cars are listed in the ‘unknown’ category, and remain there until we receive more definitive information, after which the status will be changed to either ‘active’ or ‘scrapped’.
Below you will find a counter showing the total number of cars we have registered, with a breakdown based on information that is currently available.
You are welcome to check whether a particular car is known to the club, and we look forward to receiving details about your car to make the database as complete and accurate as possible.

The register contains information from 30 countries not just the UK!

PLEASE NOTE: In this respect, the club will not pass on any information about you or your car(s) to any other members, unless you indicate that you have no objection in doing so.
Information to third parties (insurers etc) will not be given, irrespective of what you indicate on your form.
